LI: to use transitional vocab in an explanation.
This week we have been revising explanation writing. Next week is our assessment week so we did this collaborative challenge to remind ourselves what is needed when we write explanations. We worked in groups and used TEEL to create an explanation. We then linked the paragraphs together so the paragraph before can flow into the next. The topic of our explanation was "Why's it important to use our Care Values".
Greetings Lukah,
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading your blog post and learning about why it is important to follow the PBS CARE Values. I really liked how you explained why we did this activity and how it connects to Transitional Writing. I also really liked the way your group had presented themselves confidently in the Vacaroo. Next time try to add more description to TEEL, if others might not understand it.
What is the meaning of TEEL?
Great Job!
Hi Sulia,
DeleteThanks for your positive feedback, I will work on it by explaining my learning clear and detailed. I really think our group spoke confidently too. TEEL is a structure that stands for Topic sentence, Elaborate, Evidence, Linking. The topic sentence introduces the topic, evidence is to back up the elaboration, and the linking between paragraphs helps make it flow.
If you were to structure an explanation how would you do it?
Thanks,
