Commenting

LI: to write a comment on a persons blog.
This week I made a comment on Andrews blog talking about his cricket games. This week I learned by making a comment on Andrews blog post.

Music

LI: to learn notes and chords using instruments.
This week for music we had to practice some songs with instruments and people got a turn on the piano/keybaord. This week I learned by going to music.

Basic Facts Box


LI:to remember basic maths facts.
For extra work I did basic facts box, a basic facts box is a box with equations that we have to answer. I use this to practice my math for the future math lessons. This week I learned by doing the basic maths box and by practicing my basic facts.

SSR Selfie

LI: to read a book and talk about it.
This week for SSR selfie my book was about five hundred facts about ancient times. There is no photo because the slides didn't show my slide. This week I learned by reading my book about five hundred facts about ancient times.

Hauora Boxes

LI:to learn about Hauora.
For inquiry this week we had to go on two google drawings with boxes that represent the four dimensions of our health, for the first one there were little other boxes that had ratios of the four dimensions and sort them into their rightful box. The second one was for our personal things that link with Hauora. This week I learned by going onto the two google drawings.

Recount Check

LI: to revise and edit recounts.
For writing for this week we had to write a recount about kiwi can, kiwi sport or music. We also had to get in partner as well. Both partners had to make a recount about kiwi can, kiwi sport or music, at the end we had to add or change things with their recount. Each change was set as an amount of point, the person with the most points wins and the other has to write the other two recounts. This week I learned by writing  a recount about kiwi can, kiwi sport or music.

Summarising





LI:To Skim and Scam to find the key words.
For reading this week we had to read a book and summarise it in a document, the document is up above. We had to do the same with a text about smoking is banned in Wellington and summarise it, we had to find out who was there, what happened, where it happened, when it happened, how it happened and why it happened. After the summary we had to do the same with other stories. I learned by doing the current events and by going on the summarising document.

Kiwi Can

LI: to learn about bad relationships and good relationships.
For kiwi  can this week, we talked about good relationships and bad relationships, to learn about good relationships and bad relationships we played a game called secret cards and we played another game just for fun. For the secret cards game we had to get into groups, each group were given some cards with secrets on them, we then had to figure out if the secret was bad or good or it just depends. The other game that we played was last man standing, one person would call a persons name out and that person has to tag as many people as the person can before another person says freeze. It goes on until there are winners. This week I learned by playing secret cards and last man standing.

Statistics

LI: to learn about the class or the school using statistics.
For math's this week, instead of place value we learnt about statistics, statistics is analysing the numbers and figuring out the answer.  We had to find out what is the place that people like to sit and rest so we had to create a map of the school and we had to make zones of the places were people like to sit and rest. We also had to make a google form for people to show the amount of votes of were people like to sit and rest the most. Kiwi Sport

LI: to learn how to play Ki O Rahi using the proper rules.
This week for ki o rahi was the last week we got to play it, we played ki o rahi again, we played the proper game of ki o rahi. each team had two minuts of being kioma or tanipha and then we had to switch. This week I learn by playing ki o rahi.

Hauora

LI: to learn the four dimensions of Hauora.
For inquiry this week we learned about hauora, hauora are four dimensions to keep yourself healthy, the four dimensions are: social, mental/emotional, physical and spiritual. We had to make to make an example of hauora using things with four things, like a car it has four wheels or a table it has four legs. You can  learn about the four dimensions down below. This week I learnt by making an example of hauora.

Art

LI: to learn how to use shades and blend colors when doing art.
Yesterday we went upstairs to do some extra things, we ended up doing art with pastels and colored pencils. The first step the we needed to do was to transfer the drawing on to a piece of sugar paper, to transfer the drawing we had to trace over the lines of something on the back of the paper, we then had to flip it over put the backside facing the sugar, we then had to trace over the actual printed lines so when I trace the lines it leaves lines. Now we  go onto the fun bit, we had to colour in the fruit drawing with red, orange, yellow, brown, green, dark green and white pastels. We did the same exact thing again but with colored pencils.

For kiwi can we played two games, those two games were about working as a team. The first game that we played was a game about remembering the way you went on the hoola hoops, you have to figure out the right way to get through the hoola hoops. The second game that we played was a team game, we had to figure out a riddle, and the first team to get it right wins. This week I learned by talking about positive relationships and by going to kiwi can.

Modifying Sentences

I learnt to modify or add things to sentence, for the writing task this week we had to get a paragraph from one the messed up recount and modify/add things to it. This week I learned by getting a paragraph from one the messed up recount and modify/add things to it.

Summarising



L.I. To look for keywords and phrases.
I learnt to summaries a text using only 25 words or less, we had to go on a document get a text from kiwi kids news or the New Zealand Herald. We also had to highlight the keywords from the text. I learnt by using the document, summarizing the text and by highlighting the keywords from the text.  

Place Value

LI: to shift between place values using multiplication.
I learned to use multiplication when I use place value. We also had to make a spreadsheet about using multiplication for place value, we had to pick numbers in the ones value, tens value and the hundreds value. Place value is grouping numbers up into tens, hundreds, thousands and so on. I learnt this by learning my multiplication and by making a spreadsheet about using multiplication for place value.

Types of touch


LI: to learn the different types of touch.
For inquiry this week we had to choose one of the four topics that we did for the KoS, we also had to choose witch kind of poster we were going to make, you can also go on to the URL bar code scanner to do this, if you don't have the app well... too bad. This week for inquiry we had to make a poster about one of the four topics we learnt about in KoS.

Music

LI: to learn chords and notes using instruments.
For music this week we did the same things from last week but some people went outside to play some ukulele and some people switched with the piano people last week. The people who went outside to play an ukulele was given a paper with a lot of notes and the inside people practiced with Fire Ode.

Abuse

Today LS1 was visited by police officer Constable Cyrus, he taught us about witch kind of abuses in a situation. The types of abuse are physical abuse, cyber abuse, sexual abuse, family violence, neglect and emotional abuse. We played a little game, were Constable Cyrus says a situation and we have to run to an abuse where we think is right.
Physical Abuse: When you get hurt physically.
Cyber Abuse: Someone does something to you online/digitally.
family violence: when you have violence with your family.
Neglect: when your parent don't care about you.
Emotional Abuse: When you get hurt mentally.
  

Said Poster


LI: to build more interesting sentences.
For writing this week we had to write list's of, adverbs, adjective's, verbs, said and female/male. For the said and the female/male, we just had to find other words to replace them, soon after we got into groups with other people who did the same subject. Since that I did said we had to make a poster with our list of words. This week I learnt by making a list of words to replace said.

Kiwi Sport | Ki O Rahi

LI: to play the proper rules of Ki O Rahi.
This week for kiwi we got to play an actual game of Ki O Rahi. For this match we used ripper  rugby tags, we still have that same rules from the last matches but modified. We also had a kicker to start off the game. This week I learnt by listening to the coach and by playing a proper game of Ki O Rahi.

Cybersmart | 5 things for a Blog Post

LI: to write a blog post using a template.
For cyber smart we had to list 5 things for a blog post, as you can see above there is an example of a blog post to show what a blog post looks like. The five things that you need in a blog post are a title, a learning intention, labels and a blurb. The blurb contains what we learnt, how we learnt and what tools we used to learn. I learned by listing 5 things to add in a blog post.

Kiwi Can | Cooperation

For kiwi can this week we played two games and for this week we talked about cooperation. Today for the energizer that we played was called opposite, basically we just had to do opposite of what person says, for an example the person says move forward, then you have to move back. If you do the wrong action you out, and it keeps on going until there is only one winner. The Activity was called demand & conquer, this game requires groups of people, your  group has to do a specific demand involving your whole group, if your group finish's the group action you get to pick anyone from one of the different teams. This week I learnt by talking about cooperation and by going to kiwi can.

Place Value

LI: to create groups of tens and hundreds with large numbers.
For math's this week we learnt how to use place value with large numbers, for an example watch the video above. Before the video we had to do a math's grid filled with large numbers and we have to subtract the numbers, add the numbers and figure out how many groups of tens and hundreds were in the large number. This week I learnt by making a flipgridvideo.

Sentence

LI: to modify sentence's.
This week for writing I had to make up any sentence and modify it by just adding an adjective, when, where, where, how and why. My sentence is "I waited outside the football stadium. All of the modification are colour coded: Red: Adjective, Orange: When, Green: Where, Blue: How and Pink: Why. This week I learnt by modifying a sentence.

Telling Time

LI: to tell time on an analog clock.
This week for math's we had to make a poster about telling time on an analog clock. On the poster we had to explain how to tell time. We had to go on this analog clock generator to make an analog clock with a time of our choosing. The time that I chose was 5 : 50 or 10 to 6 or 5 hrs 10 mins. This week I learnt by showing analog time on a poster.

KoS | Inquiry

LI: to identify personal strengths
For inquiry this week we learnt about personal strengths, emotions and safe activities, types of touch and safe situations. Personal strengths are things that you are good at and things that you like, for an example you are good at rugby, that is your personal strength.

Emotions and safe activities are activities that could either make you feel a whole of emotions, maybe you get pushed over and that makes you sad, and you win a game and that makes you happy. Emotions will sometimes make people do bad things.

Types of touch, if you see down below you can see a slide show showing types of touch we like, touch's that hurt and touch's that are confusing, the types of touch that you like could be a hug or a high five, the types of touch that hurt could be kicks or punch's and the confusing touch's could be a wet willy or a wedgie.

Safe situation are situations that make you feel safe, for an example you are at home with your family watching some TV or you could be at the beach having a great time.

This week I learnt by making examples of touch's we like, that hurt and make us get confused on the slides, we also learnt by rating situations from a danger rating from 1 to 5.

This week for cyber smart we had to learn the things to put in a blog blurb. In the blurb you need to have: What you learnt, how you learnt and what you did/used to learn it and that all revolves around the session. Click this link as an example for a blurb, the blurb is about the LS1 care awards.

Music

This week for music we got to play with another instrument, we got to play with an ukalele, and the people who didn't get to play on the piano last week got to have a turn now. The notes the same as last week. This week for music I learnt by doing notes and chords.

Kiwi Can

LI: to learn the meaning of praise.
This week for kiwi can we learnt about praises, we also talked about positive relationships and positive communication. Praising is showing admiration for someone or congratulating them for achieving  something to put an easier explanation its encouraging someone. The energizer that we had today was called Rocpici, its game we you have to play rock paper scissors. If you lose you have to have to turn around touch the ground and start chasing your partner, you have to tag him before you give up and if you won just RUN, the activity was kick ball, kick ball involves two teams, one team is the attackers and the other team is defenders. The attackers have to kick the ball and from from one side to the other without being tagged by the defending team, the defending team could eathier through the ball at you to tag you or just run with the ball. This week for kiwi can I learnt about praise and I learnt by going to kiwi can.
