Everyday Hero's

LI: to help or hero's in need.
This week for the first task of the fifth day of the second week of the SLJ I had to brainstorm five ways on how our community could support emergency services that help people affected by the fires in Australia and that put out the fires. I then had to make a video out of it, here's the link.

Guiding Principles

LI: to research about the people who have changed the world.
For the first task of the fourth day of the second week of the SLJ I learnt that back then in New Zealand history the natives used Whakatauki, whakatauki are basically Maori metaphors. The task I had to do was that I had to pick a Whakatauki that had meaning to me and make a poster about it, the whakatauki that had meaning to me was "Do you know where I'm from?".

The Right to Vote

LI: to research about the people who have changed the world.
For the first task of the third day of the second week I had to learn that Kate Shepard was the first ever woman to be elected prime minister in New Zealand, for the task I had to choose a person to replace Kate Shepard on the ten dollar bill If Kate Shepard wasn't on the ten dollar bill. If were to replace it with someone I'd think I would change it to Jacinda Ardern because she is another woman who has been elected prime minister of New Zealand.

Along walk to freedom

LI: to research about the people who have changed the world.
For the first task of the second day of week two of the summer learning journey I learnt that Nelson Mandela went to prison for his activism, while he was at the prison he had a journal to write about each day, I had to write about his time in prison and how I thought he felt about it. If I were Nelson Mandela and if I were prison I would be mad because it wasn't fair back then.

Taking the Lead

For this task I learnt that Barack Obama loves to spend time with his family, we then had to write our top five things to do, my top five are playing video games, watching a movie, eating, playing football and organizing the periodic elements in to their groups.

Against the Odds

LI: to research about the people who changed the world.
For the first task of the fifth day we had to name three things that we treasure, one of the things that I treasure is my family because I love my family, I also treasure my dads axe because I used that axe to cut my very first log of wood, and I treasure my country because I live there.

For the first task of the fourth day of the summer learning journey we had to watch two videos about Serena Williams and Venus Williams, we then had to list three facts from the videos.

Rugby Superstars


LI: to research about people who changed the world.
For the first task of the third day of the SLJ we had to read about Johna Lomu and Richie McCaw. Their skills in rugby are described as "Super Powers", speaking of super powers we had to pick three super powers that we liked and we had to explain what we would do with them. I would try to fight of enemies from hurting people.

Flying Solo

LI: to compare Amelia Earhart with Jean Batten.
For the first task of the second day we had to use a venn diagram to compare Amelia Earhart to Jean Batten. We had to research them both and we had the choice of putting an image on the DLO or not.
