LI: to help or hero's in need.
This week for the first task of the fifth day of the second week of the SLJ I had to brainstorm five ways on how our community could support emergency services that help people affected by the fires in Australia and that put out the fires. I then had to make a video out of it, here's the link.
I am a Year 8 student at Panmure Bridge School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Learning Space 2 and my teachers are Mrs Anderson and Mrs Fisi'iahi.

Guiding Principles
LI: to research about the people who have changed the world.
For the first task of the fourth day of the second week of the SLJ I learnt that back then in New Zealand history the natives used Whakatauki, whakatauki are basically Maori metaphors. The task I had to do was that I had to pick a Whakatauki that had meaning to me and make a poster about it, the whakatauki that had meaning to me was "Do you know where I'm from?".

The Right to Vote
LI: to research about the people who have changed the world.
For the first task of the third day of the second week I had to learn that Kate Shepard was the first ever woman to be elected prime minister in New Zealand, for the task I had to choose a person to replace Kate Shepard on the ten dollar bill If Kate Shepard wasn't on the ten dollar bill. If were to replace it with someone I'd think I would change it to Jacinda Ardern because she is another woman who has been elected prime minister of New Zealand.

For the first task of the second day of week two of the summer learning journey I learnt that Nelson Mandela went to prison for his activism, while he was at the prison he had a journal to write about each day, I had to write about his time in prison and how I thought he felt about it. If I were Nelson Mandela and if I were prison I would be mad because it wasn't fair back then.
