Flip Grid, Synthesis, QAR | Reading

LI: to identify the main ideas in a text.
Like last week we did a QAR and synthesis google drawing about a text called beat bullying, we also had to make a flip grid about if we agreed to the text or not. The text is about stopping bullying in all schools. I learned by doing the synthesis, the QAR and the flip grid video.

Flip Grid, QAR, Sythesis | Reading

LI: to identify the main ideas in a text.
For reading this week we did QAR and a synthesis about a text called Too much Technology, the text was about how technology can disconnect us from our families and friends, keeping kids from getting out and the text basically talked about the dangers of technology.

QAR means question answer response, the QAR google drawing had four boxes with different types of questions, the questions were a right there question, a right there question is a question that has an answer that can be spotted straight away, a think and search question is a question that has an answer that might be in different paragraphs, an author and you question is a question that has answer were you need to use background information to find out the answer and an on my own question is a question that the answer is not the text but we have to use background information and searching skills. There were questions about the text and we had to put them in one of the four boxes and answers them.

Synthesizing means getting our prior knowledge about the text, and our new information. We then put our new information and our prior knowledge of the text to make a new understanding of the text.

We then had to make a flip grid video of the text and if we should agree or disagree. I learned by making a flip grid, doing the synthesis and by doing the QAR questions.
