LI: to cope with challenges.
We learnt how to face our challenges and experience/attempt them. We looked at 3 different types of challenges and wrote about our feelings when we face those challenges. We figured out coping strategies in our groups of three.
I am a Year 8 student at Panmure Bridge School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Learning Space 2 and my teachers are Mrs Anderson and Mrs Fisi'iahi.

LI: to deal with challenges.
We need to practice dealing with challenges to deal with them easily in the future. We did a Bus Stop activity. We had to explain the challenge in the pictures.

LI: to focus more ( not get distracted ).
We learned to not get distracted. Distracted means to fall out of focus. Many this can distract us like people talking or physically annoying each other. To learn about distraction we played a game called Distraction Circle. This game had four things that we had to focus on at the same time.

Kiwi Can
LI: to use resilience in the community.
Resilience means coping with our challenges and bouncing back. The topic for the few weeks is self discipline/self control.
The energizer for kiwi can today was game game called rats and rabbits, there are two sides, one side are the rabbits and the other side are the rats. To start of the game one person says either rats or rabbits, if the say rabbits the rabbits have to pick up a cone before the rats do, and it would be the same for the rats.
The activity that we played was a game were we had to get in a group and we had to do different types of challenges, the challenges were: re-create the catchphrase, write the alphabet backwards, do 5 Push ups, 5 sit ups, 5 burpees and 5 squats.
The challenging part about the challenges was that we had to do them under a minute. I overcame this by trying my best to do it fast. The rats and rabbits game was challenging because I couldn't have self control over my self, I had overcame it by being calming down and being happy for the other person for winning.

LI: to use resilience in the community.
For this weeks topic for kiwi can we talked about self control and self discipline. Self control is controlling yourself and self discipline is disciplining yourself. The first game that we played was called shoulders, knees and toes, most of you should know how to play that game, so I don't need to explain how to play it. The other game that we played was role play. We had to do a role play about a situation and how we can show self control. I learned by going to kiwi can.

Kiwi Can
LI: to show resilience
Today I learned how to set goals and how to play two games. The two games were called snatch and octopus. The energizer was snatch, how you play snatch is pretty easy, its like musical chairs. There is a circle full of cones, one person puts on music, when ever the music stops you have to get a cone as fast as you can before anyone else takes them, the rules is you can't dive in or people will get hurt. The activity was octopus, how you play octopus is easier than the last game. Their is a person in the middle playing as the octopus, you have to get to the other side without getting tagged by the octopus, if you get tagged you are now an octopus and you have to help the original octopus to tag people, in this game to get to the other side you have to crawl or hop on one leg, this go on and on until there is only one winner. Today I learned by going to kiwi can.

LI: to learn how to set goals
Today LS1 went to kiwi can and we learnt how to set goals. We played two games, tag snatch and ball trouble, the first game was tag snatch. How you play tag snatch is like rippa rugby, you have a tag in your pocket dangling out, you have to steel everyone's tag until there is only one winner. The second game was ball trouble, we had to pair up, the challenge was you had to hold the ball in between both partners backs, but you cant use you hands, the goal was to carry the ball to one end of the room and then carrying it back. Today I learned by going to kiwi can.

Kiwi Can
LI: to show resilience.
Today for first term three kiwi can session the new theme and topic was setting goals and showing resilience. Today for kiwi can we played two games, the first game was the energizer and the last game was the activity. For the first game we had to order each other by age, birth month and height. The activity was goal set. There were three cones, for each cone they have a set of points, we had to throw a hoola hoop on a cone so we could get the points. One cone is worth fifty points, an other cone was worth one hundred points and the furthest cone was worth one hundred and fifty plus you can take one hundred points off of the other team. There were also two teams. Today I learned by listening to the instructions, by working together with my team and by focusing on the game.

Resilience
LI:to use a range of comprehension strategies to go deeper into the text.
I learned to read another text and do the same thing from last weeks work. I learned about resilience and I learned that Jordan
Kahu slept in a car and got stronger! I learned by listening to the instructions, working hard and by being focused on my work. I learned to read the resilience page and going onto the recording frames and answering the questions.
