Just Frame It Poster
LI: to advertise a product.
For our Gala day today we had to make brochures, posters and videos to advertise our frames. For the brochures we would have to give them out to other classes to let them know what we are selling and what were the prices. For the posters we had to put them all around the school. For the video we would show it to the other classes.
Kiwi Sport

Kiwi Can
LI: To respect others for their differences.
For kiwi can this week we learnt how everyone has their own beliefs/ideas/customs that we should respect. We had to learn how to hold our tongue (think about what you want to say before you say it). We also learnt about cultures, religions, and customs from different countries like the Philippines and other countries. We played a game called "Spot the difference". In this game we had to get into pairs and one person would change an aspect of their appearance and the other person had to figure out what they've changed, and then we would swap roles.

Plane Flight Measurements & Graph
LI: to use statistical and scientific methods to study the effect of wing span and area on lift.
For math's this week we had to choose a type of plane (Glider, Stunt and Dart), and a plane design. We then had to get into a group of eight and throw our planes, we then had to throw our planes and measure how far they flew and record the measurements on a google sheet. We then had to use the data that we acquired to make a scatter chart. My interpretation is that the more you throw the plane the further it flies.

Coffee Shop Gameplay
LI: to balance supply and demand for a profit.
For inquiry we played a game called "Coffee Shop", this game is about buying supply and selling the coffee, the aim of the game is to make as much money as possible in 14 days. We used this game for our learning so we could learn how you get the supply, the amount of demand there is, and many more things. We then had to make a video about the days 12 to 14 and at the end of each day we would have to take a screenshot of the progress we made on that day.

Kiwi Can
LI: to learn how to be patient
For kiwi can we were learning about how to be patient and if we are not patient we would get angry. For the energizer we played a game called grab it. The way on how to play this is with a group of people in a circle, everyone puts there left hand out and put their right index finger and middle finger on another persons right hand. A person says a sentence with a specific word, when that word is said in the sentence you have to grab the persons hand with your left hand while also lifting your right hand without getting caught.
The next game was a patience test, the test was called pass it on. There are two teams in lines, one person would squeeze both shoulders of the people at the back of the line, they then had to pass the squeeze on until they reached the person in front. The person in front has to run to the cone before the other person does.

LI: To investigate figurative language.
We had to choose a setting and put a picture of the setting in a google drawing, we then had to make to boxes with our group on the google drawing, in those two boxes we needed to write telling and show. In the telling box we needed to tell was we saw, what we felt, what we heard, what we tasted and what we smelt if we were in that setting. In the show box we need to write that same thing but we needed to add figurative language.

Foodprint
LI: to learn how a business works.
Today we were visited by a person named Michal, she started an environment friendly business called Foodprint about reusing food waste and giving it to people. Her business needed 2 years of planning and it has only been open to the public for 6 months. She told us that she had to figure out a name and a logo. She also told us that the her business has over 200 stores all over Auckland and over 17400 people use the app.
She told us that there was a food waste problem and that the food waste should be given to those who are in need of food. She also said that 1.3 billion food are wasted and sent to landfill, that food then decays and produces methane gas, methane gas starts climate change. She said that in NZ we waste about 20 million loafs of bread a year. She told us that the food is accessible by going on an app. All the food for Foodprint are provided by cafes that.

LI: to learn how to respectfully communicate.
This week for kiwi can we learned about respectful communication. We played a math's game where we had to get into pairs and put one hand behind our back. We then had to pull our hands out with any amount of fingers from one to five, first person to add up both numbers wins. The activity we played musical cones, we had to do the same thing as playing musical chairs but instead of sitting on a chair, you had to grab a cone. I learned by going to kiwi can.

Origami Airplane Wingspans
LI: to use statistical and scientific methods to study the effect of wingspan and area
on lift.
For term 4 we are studying aerodynamics. We learnt what variables are as well as
independent and dependent variables.
Our task this week was to create 12 paper/origami planes focusing on one certain design
and studying each aspect of the design and which part of the paper planes are important
and how they affect launch and flight.
A variable is a feature of an object or thing that can change between multiple types of
the object/item. An independent variable is unchanged by other variables or will not be
changed by other aspects or assets of a variable. A dependent variable is depends on
another factor in order to be changed.

LI: To have a respectful communication with someone.
For kiwi can we were learning about how we could respectfully communicate with someone. We also listed types of respectful communication with someone, they were body language, art, music, dance and drama. The two games that we played to learn about respectful communication were "Rock, paper, scissors", basically we would play normally but if you lost you had to get onto your knees and play against another person thats on their knees, if you win that game you get to stand up again, if you don't you are out. The other game we played was called "Animal Choir", we got animal names that represented four teams, when we got into the teams each team got a song to sing. I learned by talking about respectful communication.

LI: to use statistical and scientific methods to study the effect of wing span and area on lift.
For maths throughout the coming weeks we are going to be learning about airplanes and how they fly. This week we had to make earthier a blunt tip plane or a pointy tip plane. Our group chose to make the blunt tip plane, after we made the plane we made a google drawing showing three parts of the origami airplane and their functions. We also had to figure out the fuselage length, the wing span and the wing area. I learnt by measuring the wing span, the wing area and the fuselage length.
