The topic for tech for term two was food technology, we changed the topic because each term we had something different to learn. We made a colorful fruit salad with yogurt in a cup with kiwi fruit, oranges, and grapes. First we put on aprons, and we went to a place where we would either make the food or wash the dishes, after that we got all of our equipment and ingredients. For this weeks session we learned to use knifes when cutting fruits. For this weeks session we learned to use knifes when cutting fruits. To cut the oranges and the kiwi fruit, we cut the ends off, and then we started peeling the skin of with our knifes. After that we diced the kiwi fruit into pieces and we put them into a bowl. We then started cutting the oranges into pieces and then we put them into the bowl. For the grapes we just cut them in half and we put those into the bowl as well. After that we distributed the fruits equally into three cups, we then added yougurt to them and we started eating them. They were delicious.

My Ancestor Poem
LI: to write a poem that describes our ancestors.
We created a poem about what our ancestors gifted us, what they did for us to be here. We used a poem planner to help us create the poem we needed. It also provided sentence starters in case we were stuck. After that we created a DLO and copy & pasted our poem onto that DLO. We wrote our poems mostly about our culture, land, cultural foods, or anything passed down from our ancestors.
STEPS - Suffixes
LI: to practice using suffixes.
STEPS is a digital site that helps kids with their literacy (their writing and reading). Our teacher assigned us some work to do on STEPS, we would either get prefixes or suffixes. I got suffixes, and I had to some work with words and letters.

Explanation of a Maths Rule
LI: to find the most efficient strategy to solve the maths problem.
A rule in mathematics, is basically the equation you have to do to get the answer, for an example a rule is (something) x 3 - 1, its the equation you have to solve an answer or do multiple answers. The rule that we used was 1.5 x 20 x 6 = answer.

Maths Challenge #2
LI: to find the most efficient strategy to solve the math's problem.
For the maths challenge for this week we had to do a lot of multiplication and skip counting, so the question was for every hour they get 3 fish, they also had one extra fish, so in a hour they'd get 2 fish, in two hours they'd get 5 fish, and in 3 hours they'd get 8 and so on. We had to find out how many fish they would get in 6 hours, 10 hours, 20 hours and 100 hours.

Math's Challenge
LI: to choose the most effeicent strategy to solve the math's question.
For this math's challenge we worked in either pairs or groups to solve three math's questions, all pairs and groups worked to solve the first and second question but the last question we did in our own pairs/groups. The first question was about dividing in 2, and the second was about dividing in 4, and the third one was to find the average weight of a fish.

Fruit Burst Maths Challenge #3
LI: to find the most efficient strategy to help you solve the maths problem.
For one of my home learning tasks I chose to do the third daily maths challenge of this week, for this challenge I was challenged to find a strategy to give equal space for the red and green fruit burst in a certain amount of space, I used a strategy where I multiply both numbers until they both get to a number where both can be added to equal the amount of space.

Mussels Maths Challenge #2
LI: to find the most efficient strategy to help you to solve the maths question.
For one of my home learning tasks I chose to do some work on my daily maths challenges, this is the second one out of 3-4 for this week, for this challenge we had to find the most efficient strategy to help me get the right answer. For two of my strategies I didn't have enough space to write my strategy on the slide so I wrote both strategies in my book, the last strategy I just wrote on the slide.

Kahoa Lole Maths Challenge #1
LI: to find the most efficient strategy to help you to solve the maths question.
For one of my home learning tasks I chose to do some work on my daily maths challenges, this is the first one out of 3-4 for this week, for this challenge we had to find the most efficient strategy to help me get the right answer, this was a division question but we had to get a proper number and the remaining numbers, so the strategy I went for was: I multiplied each Kahoa with numbers from 1, then 2, etc until I got a number that got me close enough to the amount of lollies.
