For this activity I had to write down my pepeha and say it on a video or type it down. My pepeha is a little bit long. A pepeha is speech of who you are, the mountain, river, waka, ancestor ,tribe, marae, and who are my parents. I made the video on screencastify. Pepeha is a way of introducing yourself. It identifies who you are.
I am a Year 8 student at Panmure Bridge School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Learning Space 2 and my teachers are Mrs Anderson and Mrs Fisi'iahi.

Its all in the family
LI: To say if I want to be in a big family or not.
I would rather not be in a big family because maybe I might get annoyed by a lot of people and if were on a holiday we would have to look after LOTS of siblings. Back then family's were pretty big. Actually they had an average of seven to nine children WOW! The parents would've been tired out.

A house or a home
LI: To write two differences and similarity between my house and a wharepuni (Sleeping house).
For this activity I had to write two differences and similarity between my house and a wharepuni (Sleeping house). I think the two similarity's are that it has the front door and it has a roof, those are the only two thing's I could think of because its a bit different. I think the two differences are, it doesn't have a kitchen and it's a bit small.

Waka Ama
LI: To say if I want to be in Waka Ama when I grow up.
For this activity I going to say if I want to be in waka ama or not. I would rather not be in waka ama because I'm scared of the sea, rivers and all the others because I feel like I'm going to drown. Did you know: Back then we used to use waka for transport but since that we have cars, we just use them for sport. I would rather not do it also because I don't like getting wet, but if its a pool I'm fine with it.

LI: To write/type a letter to a friend what would it be like if you were on a waka to NZ.
Here's the letter to my friend.
When I was on the waka I was nervous because I left my countries and I'm going to a new one, it was scary but when I finally got to the place I was relieved. It wasn't really hard to write a letter to my friend what would it be like if you were on a waka to NZ.

Three Facts About Maui
LI: To find three facts in the text about Maui.
Today I was doing an activity from the summer learning journey. The activity that I chose was "Maui and the giant fish. The first fact that I found was that Maui caught a massive fish, then his brothers ate it and then over hundreds and thousands of years, those chunks of the fish became the north island as we know today. The second fact is Maui got his jawbone (hook) from his ancestor, Murirangawhenua. The final fact is Maui was skinny back then and his brothers made fun of him. So if Maui didn't get on that boat and catch the fish that means we wouldn't have a north island. Also the Maori name for the north island is Te ika a Maui.

Commenting
LI:To make a smart comment.
I learned to make a smart comment on room 1's blog about the manaiakalani movie that they made, it was called "super hero kids". The movie was about about making good choices and when each of them made a good choice they turned into a superhero! My really favorite part was when my brother jumped backwards onto the play ground, my brother was super man. I also learned to try to make good choices. I learned by watching the movie.

Prototec
develop instant recall of addition facts.
Today for maths I answered a maths sheet with a lot of questions. The maths sheet that I used was prototec, it was on my computer. I learned to go on three different stages and those were stage four, stage five and stage six, stage six was the hardest out of them all. All of the stages had there own positioning, the positioning's were below, at and above. Below is where its too easy, at is where you should be at and above is just a bit hard. Also we had scores, on stage four my score was 98% , on stage five my score was 100% and on stage six my score was 85%. We also had some certifacites that show our scores. I learned by listening to the instructions and by working hard. I learned by answering the questions on the maths sheets.

Narrative
LI: To make a narrative from the creative writing book.
Here is my narrative
What three things would you do if a baby turned people invisible
Here is my narrative
What three things would you do if a baby turned people invisible
One day I thought in my head so hard what three things I would do if babies turned people invisible? Oh now I got an Idea, What if we put them in a titanium cage with a force field around it, that would be so cool but the only bad thing is, it will super, super, super EXPENSIVE! But if I did get those things, well those babies aren’t going to turn people invisible today.
I think my second idea would be…… a robot! The robot could produce enough energy to protect the entire earth from the baby by making force fields around all the people of the planet earth. I think this idea is even better from the last one. This would be cool if I had those things but sadly I don’t.
My third idea would be….. In underground bunker. The underground bunker should be in every city so people can’t be invisible, and when we are ready for battle we come out of hiding and FIGHT! We are not killing them but make sure it is only the armed forces to cure them.
Well I thought of three things to do if a baby turned people invisible but now what, if you were wondering why I did ideas to stay away from the baby? Because I don’t like being invisible, because if you went to get ice cream then the person who's selling it doesn’t know where to give it to you.

Weekly News
This week for reading, our must do was to create a news article. We had to do this in a group, and with this group, there would be a leader. That leader had the most roles out of all of us. The leader needed to, make sure everyone else's articles weren’t copied and pasted, make sure every article made sense, and put each news article together. They needed to even write the blog post for everyone. Our group leader was Jack, and we all chose to make a news website. Jack was working on entertainment, someone was working on sports , me & Sila were working on national, someone was working on international, and someone was working on business. Our news website was called Weekly News. There were a lot of things on the website Jack made, each article having it’s own page. A lot of changes needed to be made, that included non necessary parts, non understandable sentences, and unattributed images. Thankfully, Jack kindly changed those problems. In the end, the website looked awesome. There was a logo, and description of the website, and a cool layout for easy use. Weekly news website

Kiwi Can
LI: To use the values at kiwi can
I learned that respect means treating others the way that you want to be treated. I also learned a three games, the first game was game shark attack, how you play is pretty simple, the equipment that you need is five hula hoops, four cones, bibs and a ball. You need to make a box out of those four cones, put the five hula hoops in the box. You'll need to split up in to groups, so one group has the bibs and the other team doesn't, so now this is how you play, the team with bibs are the sharks also they have the ball. the other team can go into the hoops to be safe for five seconds, make sure you don't run out of the box, also the sharks pass the ball around to get people out so do not run with ball. I learned by going to kiwi can.

Questions & Answers
LI: To develop instant recall of addition facts.
Hi Andrew and Akuhata,
I've answered three of questions because the third question was a bit hard. My answer for the first question was 35. I got this answer by counting in fives in my head seven times. My answer for the second question was 18. I worked this out by subtracting the tens first then the ones. I didn't really get the answer for question three. My answer for question four was 75. I worked this out by using the same strategy in question two. Last week we did four maths questions, but this week in maths we are commenting on each others blogs about the four questions.
