Armistice Day Slides

LI: This week I learned to commemorate those who fought in WW1
This week I learned by working with a partner to do this, his name is Oscar.
We had to do a google slide about armistice day, armistice day was a day about
commemoration.
For the first slide we had to write information about  a song called the last post,
if you don’t know what that is look at the slide above, we specifically had to add
information about what was the last post and why is it played, we also added some
images as well.
For the Second slide we had to write information about the Poem called
“ The Fallen” Which is a poem about Commemoration for our fighters in WW1.
“ The Fallen” Was made in September 1914 by Laurence Binyon.
For the last slide we added information about why we use the poppies,
in you want to find out why look at the last slide, the cool thing is they grew in the
battlefields when the ww1 ended.
We did this by working hard and focusing on our goal without distractions.
We also worked together and accepting others ideas.

Commenting

LI: to make a nice comment on peoples blog.
Today we had to make to make a comment on other peoples blogs. I blogged on Chris's blog, he talked about Odysseus the warrior, if you want to find out more about Odysseus the warrior, click on this to go on Chris's blog.

We had to follow the four steps on making a good comment, first we had to make a greeting and a compliment, second we needed to connect something with the authors work, third we had to make a helpful comment and last we had to encourage the author

Jet Ski Addition

LI: to learn my basic math's.
I played a game called Jet ski addition, this game was about getting a question right and moving on, if you get it wrong you don't move on, and I won my first game.

I learned by answering the questions, playing the game and by knowing the knowledge first so I can use it on the game.

Recount Evaluating

LI:To evaluate writing sample using the PBS writing rubric.
this week for writing we had to write a recount about a family time that we did in the past, then we had to evaluate it, we had to high light the parts that are the structure and language features of a recount.

I made a story about a family Christmas, we also used the story that we created when we did the writing test. This week I learned by listening to the instructions, by being focused and by working my hardest.

WW1

LI: to learn about the causes, conflict & resolution in World War One

This week for inquiry we went onto the WW1 interactive notebook and filed in two of the slides, the first slide was about the new weapons that were invented. The categories were air weapons, sea weapons, and land weapons. We had to have three weapons for each categories. I was in charge of the sea weapons, Lukah was in charge of the air weapons, and Chris was in charge of the land weapons. We had to put photos of the weapons. In the the last box we had to write what the difference was. The second slide was about the battles of world war 1. In this slide their were question and we had to find answers to them by using the websites that were linked in our slides.

U-turn Interactive Story book

LI: To make a book interactive.
LI: To analyse a story for its conflict and resolution.
This week for reading we had to read a story called u-turn, its about a boy named Benji and his mum, they have been given a fine and mum doesn't want to pay it because she believe's in utu. Click on the slide to read more about u-turn. Also I created a interactive story book based on u-turn. Click this to go to the slide, hint: click the yellow.

Kiwi Sport

LI: to learn how to defend myself by using boxing.
This week for kiwi sport we did a recap of the session that we did last week and we learned how to do two new punches, the two new punches were the upper cut and the hook.

We first learned to do the upper cut and the hook, first to do the hook wind up and pretend there is a cube in front of you, hit the one of the sides of the imaginary cube, also keep your elbow up. To do the upper cut do the same with the hook but just punch the bottom of that imaginary cube.

This session wasn't really good because we had to do three burpy's, but we also learned to move while doing the rock position, if you wanted to move forward while doing the rock position, just make a big step with your front foot and the back foot follows, to move backwards, push off of your front foot and land on your back foot. Also, ONLY use this for self defense.
