For our fourth DLO for our Matariki tasks me and my group chose the topic of navigation by the stars. When early Polynesians navigated they used the position of the stars, the sun, the moon to find out where they are at sea. They would also use their surroundings to see if there was an island nearby. They also used the conditions the crops were in (dead, blooming & alive) to see what season they were in at the momement.
