SLJ Week 1 Activity 3

LI: to get a greater understanding of the text.

For our third Summer Learning Journey activity LS2 worked with room 5 to create a comic strip of a video of what might they have been saying. There was a video and we had to create a comic of what they might of said in the video. We worked in our pairs and created this DLO. We then watched the video to compare our guess to the actual video.

  2. Kia Ora Lukah,

My name is Zana and I am a blog commenter for the Summer Learning Journey, it is awesome to see you completing the activities for this first week and I hope to see more from you over the summer! I found this activity really interesting as I love reading and writing comics. I found your comic very funny and I especially enjoyed the sneeze joke. I think your comic both follows the original story while having your creative twist and humor. Did your comic end up being similar to the original video? What aspects of your comic were similar?

Keep up the great work and I hope to see more of your posts over the summer.

    Ngā mihi nui,

    1. Hi Yana,
Thanks for commenting on my blog post and giving me such positive feedback. To answer both of your questions, my comic did come quite close to the original story but my humor was a little different. Second, the aspects of my comic that were similiar was the part where he sneezes and loses his teeth. Have you ever created a comic yourself?

  3. Hi Lukah!

I really liked reading your blog post today! Your comic strip is well written and now I can actually think of what the characters were saying. My favourite part in your comic is when Mr. Stoop's tries to defend himself by saying 'shut up' because he looks annoyed, making the situation even more funnier.

Do you know who is the author of this story? Can you also tell some interesting facts that you might know?

    Keep up the great work!

  4. Hi Lukah!

I really enjoyed reading your post. It was amazing too see your comic, it was really fun to read and was laughable. Next time maybe add a bit more into your blurb, like the learning from the task. I did this task and I actually really liked doing the comic.
    What's your favourite comic?

  5. Hello Lukah

Reading your comic strip was really fun to read as it made me laugh in some parts and found reading your blurb interesting to read becuase you made it with a room 5 person. I really like the parts when the man who's teeth fell out are stating that he is holding his teeth and putting them back in.

Who can you relate to the most in the comic strip? and why?
