LI: to learn how to box and learn how to defend ourselves.
This week for kiwi sport we had our first session of boxing, our coach that was teaching us was named Pax. We first had to learn the three commandments of boxing, respect, discipline and safety, if we did something wrong that one strike, that means hat everyone has to do one burpy, if we do something wrong twice we do two burby's and it keeps on going, but if it's pass three we are having a bad day.
For the first lesson we first had to get liners (white gloves) and some boxing gloves, when we have gotten our boxing gear we had to get into our standing position, our standing position was called rock, I think it was called rock because rock's are very still and this position will keep you still. If you want to do the rock first put your legs shoulder width apart, then put your right leg a bit behind you, bend your knees a bit and put your hands on your cheeks, remember to tighten up your elbows so your body isn't exposed.
With that position we learnt about two punch's, they were called jab and cross, we learnt that if you do the jab it's just punching with your left hand, if you want to do the jab punch with your right hand and twist your body, while doing that twist your heel up. We also learnt a combo witch was called jab cross, it's just merging those two punch's to make a combo, you do the jab first then you do the cross. I learnt by listening to Pax.
