Multiplication Algorithm

LI: to learn how to do multiplication
This week for math's we did kind of the same with last week but I chose to do a multiplication slide show, we had to do algorithm for this week, since that I was doing multiplication algorithm I had to explain how to do a one digit to two digit problem and a two digit to two digit problem using the algorithm strategy. This week for math's I learned by making a slide.

What is peace?

LI: to explore some definitions of peace.
This week for inquiry we got into a group of five and we made antonyms (opposite) and synonyms (same) that were from the word peace. After that we then split our group into a pair and a group of three and we had to go onto the slide show that you see above. We had to make three words that represent the photo in each slide, we then had to make a sentence from one of the words the link with the slide. We then had to make posters showing what is peace to me or you. This week I learned by going onto the slide and by working with my group to do this.

Kiwi Sport (Boxing)

LI: to learn how to defend myself using boxing.
This week for boxing we learnt how to counter a defense move. To warm us up we played stuck in the mud, stuck in the mud is a group game, there are taggers that are trying to tag the other people, if you get tagged your stuck until someone goes under your legs and your free, if the taggers are lucky they might tag everyone so there is no one to help.

After the warm up we learnt how to counter all four defenses. We got into pairs, one person had to get two noodles and the other had to put on some boxing glove. The first defense move was bridge, you counter the bridge by moving back and moving back up to do a cross. For the second move was the slip, the noodles would go from one shoulder to the other, once it gets to one of the shoulders we have to jab and cross the pool noodles, and so on we learnt how to counter the two other moves. This week I learnt by playing stuck in the mud and by listening to my coach.

LI: to learn how to be respectful for our environment.
This week for kiwi can we played two games and one of the games were our choice, at kiwi can we also talked about having respect for our environment.

The first game that we played was called four corners, most people know how to play already but if you don't know read this. Four corners includes a group and four corners, there will be one person in the middle and the other people have to go to one of the four corners, the corner that the middle person thought was loudest is out.

The next game that we played was our choice, we chose invisible touch, I explained this in a blog before, but to the people who don't know how to play read this. Invisible touch is exactly like touch but one person says who starts with the invisible ball. This week I learned by going to kiwi can.

We had to make different inferences about the video, if you want to watch the video click this link. This week I learned by focusing on my work, by listening to the instructions and by working my hardest. What can you tell?

LI: to infer information.
This week for reading we did inferring, we then got into pairs and we made separate copy's of the google slides you see above. In each slide there was a picture and four boxes, in the boxes we had to make inference's about the picture and we had to use arrows to show what we used to make our inferences, we also had to give evidence to back up our inference. This week I learned by listening to the instructions, by working my hardest and by being focused on my work.

I picked addition and poster so I could start easy and work up to the hard ones. For the addition poster I had to show tidy numbers, place value and what are they. This week I learned by working my hardest and by focusing on my work.

Kiwi Sport - Boxing

LI: to learn how to protect myself.
This week for kiwi sport we learnt four defense's for boxing. We learnt the guard, roll, slip and bridge.  For the guard defense we had to get a partner, one of the partners had to hold a pool noodle and they would be hitting the other partner in the head, but the only way to defend ourselves was to move our fist to our heads so it can be protected from the pool noodle.

The second defense that we learnt was called bridge. For bridge it was kind of like the guard defense but we had to push off from the front foot and land on the back foot, so we couldn't be hit by the pool noodle.

The third way of defense the we learnt was called slip, slip is still in the rock position but you are moving under the pool noodle so the pool noodle goes from one shoulder to the other.

The fourth and last defense that we learned was the roll defense, roll was kind of like slip but we din't move our heads up and down we moved it side to side. This week I learned by going to kiwi sport.

This week for kiwi can we talked about whats a community, whats in our community, how to keep it safe and what are the bad things in a community. We also played two games they were called tunnel ball and hand soccer.

The first game that we played was tunnel ball. If you want to play tunnel ball you have to get a group of people in a circle and a ball. The ball is dropped in the circle and people can only use one hand to hit it underneath someone else's legs, if that happens you are out, it keeps going until we have a winner.

The next game was hand soccer, its exactly like soccer but you use your hands, also you get numbered so one person can call your number and your on. The team with the most points win. I learned by going to kiwi can.

This week for Maori Fire Odi showed us a video about some Maori story's, if you want to watch the video click this link.

Kiwi Sport

LI: to learn how to defend myself by using boxing.
This week for kiwi sport we did a recap of the session that we did last week and we learned how to do two new punches, the two new punches were the upper cut and the hook.

We first learned to do the upper cut and the hook, first to do the hook wind up and pretend there is a cube in front of you, hit the one of the sides of the imaginary cube, also keep your elbow up. To do the upper cut do the same with the hook but just punch the bottom of that imaginary cube.

This session wasn't really good because we had to do three burpy's, but we also learned to move while doing the rock position, if you wanted to move forward while doing the rock position, just make a big step with your front foot and the back foot follows, to move backwards, push off of your front foot and land on your back foot. Also, ONLY use this for self defense.
