Dr Jessa Rogers Time Calculation

LI: to research about the people who have changed the world.
For this task I learnt that Dr Jessa Rogers won the NAIDOC Youth of the year award in 2010, for the task I had to calculate the amount of time between when she was born to when she got the award. My answer was 25 years 7 months and 2 days.

  1. Hi Lukah... this is Mrs Collins again from Manaiakalani and I'll be commenting on blogs over term break. Well done on posting and participating in the SLJ this year. Here's my workings out on the problem...1985 > 2010 = 25yrs . 7th April > end of April = 23 days . May = 31 days . June = 30 days
    > 9th July = 9 days . = 23+31+30+9= 93 days . April = 30 days, May = 31 days, June = 30 days (92 days) . 2 days left over . = 25 yrs, 3 months and 2 days. Keep blogging, and commenting on others, to increase your chance of winning one of the awesome prizes and to keep up your learning over the school break!

  2. Hello Lukah! It's great to see that you're still being active with the Summer Learning Journey this holiday. Some things are just easier for me to work out on paper, and that's what I did for this activity as well! Great job on showing your working out on how you got your answer. I think you've skipped a step in the working out to get 7 months, but I can't see where you worked that part out. But I understand this activity could've been quite difficult for you, so well done!

  3. Hi Lukah!
I liked your solving out for this activity. I got a different answer, I got 25 years, 3 months and 2 days. I didn't quite get how you got 7 months and 32 days because you never explained it on your paper.
    Blog you later!
    ~ Florence
